Dietary load by selected food contaminants

This thesis deals with food from the point of view of the content of constituents, especially contaminants. The health risks associated with the consumption of contaminated foods are mentioned, and a more detailed look is given to heavy metals. The monitoring of dietary contaminant load in the Czech Republic and the method of ensuring food safety are described. Special attention is paid to the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF). The practical part is devoted to the analysis of the notifications in the heavy metals hazard category shared in RASFF by the member countries in the period January 2020 to April 2021. A total of 116 notifications were submitted by 16 countries, concerning 117 above-limit occurrences of heavy metals in food. 44 notifications were classified as the alert notification, 56 as the information notification and 16 as the border rejection notification. 92% of the notifications are classified as serious in the context of a risk decision. The most frequently taken measure was the destruction of the contaminated food and/or its withdrawal from the market. Mercury was the subject of 57 notifications, cadmium was cited 46 times, lead 12 times and arsenic 2 times. Cadmium was present in cephalopods (43.5%), fish (15.2%) and to a lesser extent in foods from other groups....

This bachelor work is avoied for safety food imported to the Czech Republic from Three World countries. Deals with the Rapid alert system for food and feed and his messages between years 2011 - 2015. Describing the most common risks from imported food products that do not pass through the state border or those foods are found in the control market. These risks are divided in to physical, chemical and biological hazards. They focus on substandard food and the countries from which they come. All food imported into the territory od the European Union must comply with food law.
Consumer protection from dangerous food in the Czech republic

The thesis is focused on protecting consumers from dangerous foodstuffs and analysis of valid systems in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part, current legislation that dealing with regulation of consumer protection and general description of food safety and quality is introduced. Further, activities of supervisory authorities and characterization of a European system of RASFF are mapped. Then, the analysis of occurence of unsafe food in the last five years is accomplished. In the practical part, survey, which aimed to analyze consumers' awareness on the protection of consumers from unsafe food was carried out.

The Food Safety and Quality Control System in Czech RepublicThe thesis describes the way how is the food safety control and quality protection provided in Czech republic. There is the law definition of the all forms of food during the food production chain from the primary production up to sale to the consumer in the work. The thesis focuses on the requirements laid down in the Czech and European food law on the food producers and sellers. The thesis also deals with the food contamination and quality aspects - nutrition value and quality branding. There is also chapter about the quality management system certification and chapter about the current cases related with the safe food area in the Czech republic in 2012 (Methanol, Polish technical salt and horse lasagne).
Brand of qulity for food

The aim of this thesis is to define the concepts of food quality and brand quality. The thesis provides an overview of the current status of the most important and famous quality brands in the food market in the Czech Republic. The thesis maps about the quality of food and the perception of quality brands for food among czech consumers via a questionnaire. Write recommendation for consumers and producers. Results showed that the most important factor when choosing food is flavor. The most famous brand of quality is Klasa. The results showed low consumer awareness of quality brands.
Food safety

In the diploma thesis I was dealing with the issue of food safety in the Czech Republic and labeling of meat products. In the practical part were carried out two surveys, public opinion poll and survey of proper labeling of meat products. Opinion polls were attended by 462 consumers and analysis of proper labelling was subjected to 489 meat products in select retail chains in Prague. Survey results of labeling of meat products were not very positive, but can be expected to improve, as well as enhancing food safety.
Consumer protection from dangerous products in the Czech Republic

This work deals with the protection of consumers from dangerous products and with systems of protection in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part includes consumer protection legislation and general safety of products. A special chapter is devoted to institutions of supervision and consumer's organizations that oversee the safety of the products, among the systems that are in work described, belong to RAPEX information system, RASFF information system and Hazard analysis control point (HACCP). The practical part presents a survey that was conducted among consumers in the form of questionnaire survey. The aim of the survey was to analyze the general consumer knowledge and information about European systems RAPEX, RASFF and HACCP.
Consumer Protection in EU

This work deals with consumer protection in European Union with special focus on protection of health and safety. The aim of this work is to prove that EU is capable to contribute to this issue not only by harmonizing and spreading already existing standards and regulations of consumer protection, however, that by cooperation among its member states, it is able to achieve even those results which would be very hard or impossible for individual states to accomplish. In the first chapter, the terms consumer and its protection are defined. There is also the description of the history of this issue in the world. The second chapter concentrates on the consumer protection in EU, especially on the development, various forms and the implementation of its legislation. The biggest current problems of this area are also mentioned there. In the third chapter, health and safety of consumers are discussed, as well as, the means of EU which specialize in ensuring them.
